Kamba /ˈkæmbə/
Kamba is a word in the Zambian language Nyanja. It means “talk”. Talk therapy can make a significant difference in how we feel and is one way in which humans connect with each other. Sharing your story creates common ground, breeds empathy and helps one feel less alone.
Our stories are powerful. They evoke compassion even among strangers, create opportunities to understand others better and cultivate avenues for problem-solving. A crucial component of human communication and emotional expression is storytelling. By telling others about our experiences, especially the difficult ones, we try to free ourselves from them.
